SpendMitra ("we," "us," or "our") operates the SpendMitra price tracking and shopping lifecycle service (spendmitra.com). This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our Service.

Information Collection and Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

Personal Data

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address (via Google sign-in)
  • Name and profile picture (via Google OAuth)
  • Telegram username and chat ID (for instant alerts and reminders)
  • Display name, bio, and public profile slug (user-provided)
  • User ID (created upon sign-up)

Shopping & Wardrobe Data

When you use our Shopping Wardrobe, Collections, and tracking features, we store:

  • Products saved to your wardrobe (items you're tracking or have purchased)
  • Purchase lifecycle data — purchase dates, return windows, return deadlines, purchase prices
  • Collections you create — names, descriptions, sections, products, and public/private status
  • Hearts/likes on public collections
  • Price alert preferences — target prices, alert types, notification settings
  • Personal notes you add to products

Usage Data

We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service or when you access the Service by or through a mobile device ("Usage Data"). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address (e.g., IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, and other diagnostic data.

Google OAuth

SpendMitra uses Google OAuth 2.0 for user authentication. When you sign in with Google, we receive and store:

  • Your Google account email address
  • Your name and profile picture URL
  • A unique Google ID for account identification

We do not receive or store your Google password. We use this information solely for authentication and to personalize your SpendMitra experience.

Tracking & Cookies Data

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and hold certain information.

  • Essential Cookies: Small files stored on your device. We use them to remember your preferences, maintain your session, and store your authentication token.
  • Affiliate Tracking: When you click on a retailer link (like Amazon or Flipkart), a cookie is placed on the retailer's site to credit the sale to SpendMitra. We do not personally track your individual purchases, only that a sale occurred through our link.
  • Analytics: We use analytics to understand how users interact with our service to improve the experience.

Use of Data

SpendMitra uses the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service, including Shopping Wardrobe, Collections, and Deals features
  • To notify you about changes to our Service
  • To deliver price drop alerts, stock availability alerts, and return deadline reminders via Telegram
  • To send email notifications related to your account (if enabled)
  • To display your public profile and public collections (only if you choose to make them public)
  • To calculate and display deal scores, price analytics, and shopping insights
  • To monitor the usage of the Service
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues

Disclosure of Data

We will never sell your Personal Data. We may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation
  • Protect and defend the rights or property of SpendMitra
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
  • Protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public

Public Information

If you choose to make certain information public, it will be visible to others:

  • Public Profile: Your display name, profile picture, and public slug are visible on your public profile page.
  • Public Collections: Collections you mark as public (including their products, sections, and hearts count) are viewable by anyone with the link.

Private collections and your wardrobe contents are never shared publicly unless you explicitly make them public.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Price history data is automatically deleted after 365 days. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data, wardrobe items, collections, and alert preferences within a reasonable timeframe.

Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data through your profile and settings pages
  • Request correction of your personal data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Control the visibility of your collections (public/private toggle)
  • Disconnect your Telegram account and stop all notifications
  • Opt-out of marketing communications
